K&N users would probably be surprised by the amount of air filtration testing and scientific research that goes on in K&N facilities as well as in independent laboratories. As the leader and originator of the high flow performance air filter we are always looking for new ways to provide excellent protection and maximum power for your car, truck, motorcycle, and just about anything else with an engine. In 2005 more than 1600 vehicles were tested by K&N's R&D group on dynamometers in the US, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. In addition to these power and torque tests, we also performed more than 110 filtration tests and more than 1,200 air flow tests with our in-house state-of-the-art test equipment.

K&N Apollo Cold Air Induction Systems incorporate a washable/reusable K&N High-Flow Air Filter within a protective shell. They come with custom mounting hardware to fit specific vehicle applications. Built for performance and show, the Typhoon™ Air Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to fit many sport compact performance vehicles. Typhoon intakes come in one of three designs; cold air intakes (CA), short ram intakes (SR), or complete cold air (CCA) intakes which can be configured as either a cold air intake or a short ram intake. Some Typhoon's have high quality finish options including polished aluminum (part ends with TP), powder coated blue (part ends in TB), powder coated red (part ends in TR), and powder coated silver (ends in TS) among others. K&N intake systems replace your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction allowing more air flow to your engine. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range.

• Universal APollo K&N cold induction kit

These K&N air filter assemblies use a surgical cotton fabric element soaked in oil as their tack barrier. Sandwiched between layers of aluminum screen wire, the square holes in the cotton catch tumbling air and straighten it out. Since air moving in a straight line flows faster, these filters can actually improve airflow. Assemblies include an element and top and bottom plates and are available in several sizes and styles.
